Putin now threatening nukes.
Something we thought we would never see in this day and age.
Never in our lifetimes have we seen the real threat of nukes threatened to be used in any kind of war.
Is it a sign of Putin is loosing?
Is it a threat, from Putin, to the west?
Whatever the answer it’s an escalation, the Russians haven’t achieved anything really. They wanted to take Kyiv on day 1, and they are facing resistance left, right and centre.
Not even Ukraine’s most pro critics expected the resistance to hold off Russian forces this much.
To the point of the 13 Ukraine soldiers (yeah inknow it happened last week), to go fuck themselves, when threatened with being bombed if they didn’t lay down arms.
I say, PUTIN, GO FUCK YOURSELF.
You can’t beat this king of defiance, knowing the worst is coming but still telling the enemy to go fuck itself instead of surrendering is brave. I don’t care what anyone says, these soldiers (and citizens, who chose to stay and fight) are the bravest I’ve ever seen.
As many support Ukraine, they are still being left to fend for themselves. Yeah I know we are all supplying Ukraine with weapons and aid, and helping many to escape and offering asylum, but is it enough?
Sending troops to Ukraine and putting boots on the ground may well start world war 3, but aren’t we already at war?
Yes we are already at war.
No matter what way you look at it, we are at war, even though at the moment it is just a war of words, and sanctions, and economical war. All of Europe have stopped Russian planes flying over their air space, as well as many other countries, everyone has condemned Russia’s actions, eveyone is sanctioning Russia, shit even China abstained from voting at the UN.
Even though China will not say in words they condemn Russia’s actions, their own actions speak louder than words, China want to keep out of it for now. Hell who knows what will happen eh?
Still there’s the threat of them damn nukes.
Will Putin use nukes?
Of course he will, don’t be stupid, it isn’t a threat, is a show of muscle, it’s a show of force, it’s another way for Putin to show strength “hey dumbasses, remember what I got?”.
It’s clearly a threat with intentions to use, he isn’t making the progress he wanted to make.
Putin is loosing.
He may be able to keep sending more troops, and eventually he will break through Ukraine defences, but not without incurring many many more Russian troop losses, he underestimated Ukraine and their passion for freedom and patriotism.
At every corner Ukraine are kicking ass, and definitely not making it easy for the Russians.
With Russia failing on the ground, Putin is loosing capital within his own ranks. See it this way, he is loosing on the ground, with that comes loosing credibility politically.
Hence why nuclear “deterrence” has been placed on the highest level.
Putin is trying to scare Ukraine into submission, he is also trying to scare the west, pretty much saying I got my big guns ready so be afraid.
The scary thing is he actually would use them, pretty much the while world has backed him into a corner.
If you back a monster into a corner he will make rash decisions, and that is a scary place to put Putin.
People are begging governments to do more, the next level of help is boots on the ground, planes in the air and ships making their way into dangerous grounds (or sea or airspace, depending how you look at it).
Is this the only way to go from here? Should Ukraine be backed up by allies boots on the ground? Would it make a difference? Fuck yes it would, but it could also make things worse.
New question ….. is the worst coming anyway?
