Writing can be a strangely lonely thing. We spend hours creating stories, posts and whole bloody worlds, then put them online and hope somebody finds them. The truth is, there are some genuinely brilliant writers out there doing exactly that, and far too many of them are being missed.
This page is for them.
Here you’ll find writers I believe are worth discovering, along with links to their books, websites and blogs. Some write novels, some share their lives and thoughts through blog posts, and some seem to do a bit of everything. There is no ranking and no competition here. It is simply one writer giving other writers a little more space to be seen.
Have a look around. Click on a name you don’t recognise, read one of their posts, explore their website or take a chance on one of their books. If somebody catches your attention, give them a follow on social media too. Even a small bit of support can make a real difference when someone is trying to get their work seen.
I’ll start things off with my own book at the top, but the page won’t stop there. I’ll keep adding new writers, books and blogs as I discover them, so come back now and again. You never know. Your next favourite writer might be waiting right here.
Are You a Writer?
If you’re a writer, author or blogger and would like your work to be considered for this page, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t need a publishing deal, a massive following or a polished sales pitch. Just tell me a little about yourself and what you create.
Send me your name or pen name, a short introduction, and the links you would like readers to find. That might include your books, website, blog, Goodreads page or social media accounts. You can also attach a book cover or author photograph if you would like one included, but please make sure you have permission to share it. There is no need to send me your full manuscript.
There is no charge for being included. I’ll look at every submission, I’ll do everything I can to include every submission (Just give me time). I want to keep this genuine and only share work I feel comfortable putting my name behind, therefore no AI work can be submitted, I don’t want to damage my brand.

Rob Davis (Me)
Rob Davis is the writer behind The Plain and Simple Guy and the author of Midnight. He started blogging in 2021 as a way of getting the mess in his head onto a page, and his writing has grown from raw personal posts into music features, social commentary, fiction and whatever else refuses to leave him alone. He writes honestly, sometimes bluntly, and has never been particularly interested in sanding away all the rough edges.
