Woohoo it’s the weekend, and some good morning food porn for your eyes.

Woohoo, it’s Saturday and what a lovely morning. I’ve done a fry up consisting of bacon, sausage, poached eggs, black pudding, muchrooms and brown bread toast (sorry no pictures as I was starving) topped off with a flat white coffee.

I’ve never liked brown bread as I’ve grown up, but these past few months I seem to like it. Yes it’s healthier (not with a fry up, but lets call it the healthy section).

It’s funny how your body goes through changes all the way through your life. Even your taste buds change, you may not know this but the things you didn’t like growing up or as a kid, you may like now or when you get older.

For example, sprouts, yeah the dreaded sprouts. I hated sprouts as a kid, even in early adulthood, sprouts have always been the arch enemy of thebtaste buds for many many people. I used to just eat them because my mum or nan told me too, “if you don’t eat your sprouts you wontbe leaving the dinner table, or you won’t be having pudding” is what they used to say.

Now I love sprouts, also if you didn’t know sprouts have actually been modified, scientifically or not I’m not sure, to taste sweeter.

Also every Sunday after we have dinner at my nan’s, when we were younger (you will see in a previous blog that we always went to nans for sunday dinner most Sundays) we always have pancakes for tea. Yeah pretty much every Sunday was pancake day. We loved it, as nan always made the most perfect pancakes. She make a big bowl of the mixture. I miss them days.

I could also never make a good poached egg, mine always went rubbery, but let me give you a little tip, boil the kettle put into a pan, bring to a boil in the pan, drop your eggs into the water (usually 4 for me) bring to a simmer, then as you put the shells into the bin turn back round if they look nearly done, take them out then dish up the rest. They will continue to cook as they cool down and they will be perfect.

There you go tip of the day, and food porn. Can’t go wrong there.

I’m no chef, but I can cook a mean meal now and then. I love to experiment with food, I use a herbs and spices a lot and more often than not no 2 meals of the same kind taste the same unless I perfect it. Even then I have to try damn hard to make it taste close to the same.

I hope you all enjoy your weekend, and make the most of it.
