Only 20 more sleeps till Christmas peeps, are we excited yet?
So far it doesn’t really feel like Christmas does it? Not like it used too.
Is it because we are older? Or just the fact that Christmas stuff starts getting mentioned in September these days?
I love the Christmas feeling, but it’s just not coming full on just yet, I blame the radio stations not playing enough Christmas songs.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want Christmas songs 24/7 but the odd one here and there would be awesome, and more and more each day as we get closer to Christmas.
To much to ask? I think not.
As you get older Christmas doesn’t feel the same anyway does it? They say its for the kids, grown ups need to make it good for the kids not themselves.
I disagree there, just for the record.
Christmas is for the grown ups too, if you get stressed and dull towards Christmas, the kids will pick up on that and they won’t get the Christmas feeling either.
So my advice to everyone is, it comes once a year, bloody enjoy it, Christmas is for the parents too, not just the kids.
It’s about having an awesome time 1 month of the year, you work damn hard to keep a roof over your heads, and keep food on the table, and lately it’s getting even more difficult, so just smile and have fun and ha e the best time you can have.
Don’t kill yourself working, just so you can earn some extra cash to pay for Christmas, just have a cheap Christmas and celebrate what Christmas is, what it is actually for.
The fact Christmas hassle become so expensive, and all about buying shit that will get forgotten about, remember the true values of Christmas.
Spending time with loved ones, spend actual time in the same room as your kids, even turn everything off and say there was a power cut and get some damn candles out and dust off them forgotten about board games (you know the ones you got about 10 Christmases ago, yeah them ones).
After all its not an actual lie, just a little fib, but one worth telling to get some time together (plus itll save a bit on the electric bill too).
Again find them true values of Christmas, BEING TOGETHER, Even go to that Christmas party for work, or with friends.
Just have a damn good time, and spoil yourselves.
