THE SANTABLOG SERIES

Press play before you scroll, get that Christmas feeling flowing.
Today is a proper happy day, not just because Christmas is coming, and not just because England won the football tonight, but because I saw my son (for Context, I’ve not seen him for a couple of months, because it’s been too cold and he’s not wanted to leave the house, that’s probably why I’ve been in a bit of a grump as of late).
We had an awesome time, as we always do when I pick him up and spend the day with him, we didn’t do much as it was bloody cold and busy everywhere and there’s not exactly a lot you can do when it’s cold and weather isn’t exactly very nice. Albeit it we make the most of the time we get, and he always begs for more time, and I get them amazing cuddles, you know the ones that only your kids can give you, and they make every world problem disappear.
Even if England lost tonight I would still be happy because I’m the luckiest dad in the world.
This year teach your kids that Christmas isn’t all about them presents under the tree, it isn’t about who had more spent on them, it isn’t about that xbox or PlayStation they have got, teach them to be greatful for what they already have, but mostly be greatful for their parents, the ones that keep them under a roof, because many don’t even have that.
On the flip side, teach yourself to be greatful for your kids, the same goes for you, it isn’t about the gifts or the breakable things that mostly get discarded and forgotten about for years to come. Hold your kids, tell them what they need to hear, tell them you love than unconditionally, tell them they are safe and keep them close to your heart and help them realise you will always be there, even when your not.
Teach them life skills, don’t buy their love, because they will turn into lil shits that don’t appreciate anything, causing years of heartbreak.
Do the things with your kids and family, the stuff you used to do when you were kids yourself, or even do the things you weren’t allowed to when you were kids, you only live once, and so do your kids.
Make the most of the time you have got, because it won’t be there forever.
