Hey peeps, hope everyone is doing good on this fine and lovely day. Sun is shining and one more day to go before the weekend. I’m hoping to have a bbq, and also a nice walk somewhere. If the views are nice I’ll take some pics.
Saw this today on way home from seeing lil man, I thought it looked cool. I had to pull over twice to take a picture.
So today I was doing a job that I’d never done before, a fun job, until the task became a bit of a ball ache.
You see sometimes you can get stuck in a rhythm and just plod along with a job, I tend to get lost in the job at hand sometimes and blank everything around me out.
It’s like everything round me gets lost behind my focus and disappears into the distance, nothing and noone can break that concentration.
Right up till that point of a spanner gets thrown into the mix. Something stops working, something is seized or even your concentration slips for a second.
Then everything seems lost, everything seems to go wrong, then patients start to wear thin. The simplest things piss you off.
All it take is that one nick that gets in the way and your peaceful trance turns into a nightmare.
It gets to the point when all you can do is STOP.
Just stop and walk away from the job for 5-10 minutes. Have a cuppa, have a fag or just a breath of fresh air and chill.
When I do this everything starts to go back to normal.
Like today this job was going smooth and awesome and off I go into my work trance, then a bolt was so tight it ruined my trance.
After about 30-45 minutes I just stopped, made a coffee and went for a smoke, I saw a momma squirrel jogging along on the fence closely followed by 2 baby squirrels guarded at the back by daddy squirrel, I sat there watching them and then they disappeared into a tree.
So I got back to my fag and coffee and soaking in the sun and finally after this short break I went back to work. Proper relaxed and back into my trance. Then the job went back to going on without a hitch.
Sometimes, all it takes to overcome a problem is take 5 and chill. You may be overthinking it or getting stressed as it’s not going your way. Sometimes that 5-10 minutes away from the problem is exactly what you need. It helps me so next time something isn’t going to play just stop and have a breather.
I’ve mentioned a few days ago that i may have another mini biography up and coming. Well it’s definitely happening so once it’s been finalised and smoothed out I’ll post it.
