THE SANTABLOG SERIES
Day 5 of the santablog series peeps, and happy Sunday.
By god isn’t shopping depressing and busy, even on a Sunday.
It feels like people go crazy this time of year, but yeah maybe crazy does come with Christmas and the run up, everyone rushing round to get stuff done and get them last few presents before it’s too late, then also them people who want to get it done early to avoid the Christmas rush, but then everyone has the same idea so you have created the rush your trying to avoid.
Kind of like a time paradox eh?
You have a bright idea to avoid something then everyone has the same bright idea so it then creates the thing your trying to avoid.
It’s noones fault, it’s human nature, but at least do it with respect and a fucking smile.
You got people rushing round, cutting you up, pushing in, pushing people out of the way and arguing and scowling.
I try to smile, give people space, say sorry if I’m in the way, and kind of try not to rush. Even though it feels like a flow of river torrent.
How can you even try to spread a bit of happiness when everyone else around you seems ignorant? You just keep going and keep trying that’s what you do.
You see, as much as anger and stress is as transferable as a flu, so it happiness and a smile, they do go a long way if you try hard enough.
Even through the sea of expressionless faces, angry scowls, tuts and sighs, moaning and groaning, bitching and cursing, you will also see the little sparkle of joy and happiness in random peoples eyes, a little smile here and there, even a laugh and giggle.
The Christmas spirit is always there, maybe hiding in clear sight, but it still emanates from every single person, young and old alike.
Remember everyone is there for the same reason, to avoid the Christmas rush, buy presents for loved ones, some even buy presents for people they dislike and hate.
Hey see, even if you don’t like someone you still buy a present eh?
That’s the thing with Christmas, even if you despise someone, they are still on your Christmas card/gift list.
Some do it just to make themselves look like the better person, some do it just to prove a point, some do it in Hope’s to outstretch an olive branch.
That’s what Christmas is about, HOPE.
It’s amazing what Christmas does to people, it forges new bonds, heals old cracks. Even rebuilds them broken bridges.
Either way or whatever reason you like or dislike a person, they are still part of your life, you may as well make them smile, that’s what Christmas is about eh?
Whatever and whoever you buy gifts for, buy them with thought, you never know it may change the path of the future.
Each gift receives a smile, some gifts never see the light of day after the 25th, they get left out or put away and forgotten about, but you smile anyway when you open that wrapping paper, don’t you?
I meant even if you recieve socks, in many many cases, you appreciate what your given right?
You still say thank you, you know why?
The answer is simple, you want to make the gifted happy, you want to see them smile, you don’t want to hurt their feelings.
Shit to be honest, I’m well happy with socks, you can never have enough socks, they always end up holey and torn.
Just as long as your not a spoilt brat, you are happy with what your given, because after all it’s not about the presents.
It’s the thought that counts.
