Hey peeps, hope everyones week is going ok so far.

We went fishing yesterday, in lieu of jakes departure, we needed something to get is out so we took boy and his friend fishing.

We didn’t catch much, but it was a beautiful ish day. It started raining when we got there, so I thought sweet it’s raining the carp will be coming up and feeding good. Then the rain stopped by the time we set up, so they must have gone back into hiding.

There were loads of baby fish, which got caught in the net when we dipped it, I like to wet the net before catching anything. This is what happened.

So yeah we can say we caught loads really, but not on the lines.

The only one we did catch on the line was an eel, the slimy fucker wouldn’t let me take a picture holding it. But here you go as he was in the net.

Next time I’ll be making my own paste (which not to brag, but it brings the fish out by the dozen) and bringing maggots, at least will catch a few doing a bit of maggot dangling haha.

It felt awesome to be casting out after a few years not fishing, but I feel the addiction of fishing pulling at me already. If I could I’d be fishing pretty much every day.

I love a good fighter, you know the ones that actually have you all over the pond, it’s amazing having a strong fish, big or small, giving you something you desire, a damn good fishing fight. There is no better feeling than reeling the fucker in.

To be honest it was awesome to get away from the world, you see fishing isn’t just about catching fish, it’s about the silence and not being surrounded by people. You can get lost and loose hours and hours just throwing the rod out and just sitting there staring into nothingness.

Just shutting out the world, only grabbing your phone to take pictures, and pretty much the only people you see are other fishers, just other people who are doing what your doing, shutting out the world.

Yeah you say hi now and then and if your struggling to get a fish in they do come and help, you may get a “hows it going?caught many?” Or “how they biting today?” But mostly your left alone and it feels amazing.

During the next bank holiday we going again, so not next weekend but the weekend after, we going to try somewhere different, just because it is nice to actually catch something.
