Do you think you could run your own business?think again it’s not easy. Thank you big big boss man for my job, thank you to the team you employ.

Do you think you could run a business? Do you think you could do a better job at running a business? Or starting one up? Or even keep one going for years to come?

The answer to them questions for many people is NO.

It may seem easy, but 1st of all you need money or a business loan. Yeah a loan may sound like the best idea, but even if your business doesn’t make it big time or make a profit (it’s a tough world these days, and there’s not many origional ideas left)

BUT let’s say, you do have the money, either you have made it, or mummy and daddy have given you a few million, or you manage to get a loan off the bank. Have you actually got the balls to do it?

It’s not as easy as you may think, you have to think big from the word go. You have to think if my business makes it and goes big, if you don’t then what’s the actual point?

Ok let me say this, your working for a company and you don’t feel like your making enough money from wages. Who is the person you blame 1st? The oener of the company. Exactly.

You may think, I’m the one answering the phones every day, I’m the one doing the heavy lifting, I’m the one doing all the hard work, I’m the one being given orders off my boss and he’s getting orders from the ones above and so on up until the owner and I’m the one facing the shit off customers all day.

Yeah maybe you are, but that’s your job.

You may also think the owner isn’t answering to anyone, there isn’t anyone obove the owner.

Maybe, the owner/big boss man/lady doesn’t do anything apart from give orders all day, has crossed your mind now and then.

You also may think, the owner(s) are raking in the profits, rolling in the money and going on 100 holidays each year.

Sorry to say but you are WRONG.

The true answer is, the big boss man/lady are the ones who answer to their clients/customers. So they are technically the boss or the big boss man. Come on think about it, without clients or customers the business wouldn’t exist. So they have to bend over backwards to keep them happy and keep them coming back for more custom.

Along with that they also need to keep you, the employee, happy. There’s nothing worse than having an unhappy employee(s). Then they also have to keep their family happy on top of all this. So finding that happy medium isn’t exactly easy. It’s not easy for you either but it’s much harder for the bosses to do so because they take their work home. Intentionally or not.

Their staff may do overtime, they may stop over and help, but then they have to get paid overtime, noone does it out the goodness of their heart and noone says it’s fine don’t pay me for them couple of hours I stayed over.

The big boss/owners have to keep working and doing “overtime” and still don’t reap the benifits that you do. They have no choice whereas you do, they have to take their work home or the business will fold.

As for profits, they don’t really see all these profits or have money rolling in. Think about this, they have to pay everyones wages, and you know all these bills you pay at home? Gas, electric, mortgage/rent, council tax, ect. well they have to pay all this and more, like some may have to pay environmental costs, health and safety checks (for your safety and keep you safe) also insurance, company, vehicle, liability insurance (just in case something happens to customers property while it’s in their charge) also they pay for land and they have to pay someone to collect the waste the company makes, like recycling paper or scrap metal.

Then if someone gets injured on their sites, there are claims to deal with, yeah they have insurance to help with that but like car insurance, if they claim their premiums will increase.

Also if you fuck up, they have to go groveling to the client/customer, more often than not they have to give them a discount on next purchase or next service ect.

More often than not most companies have stocks. Or they have to put money into stocks to make sure they can actually try to make money.

Then there are taxes, you know the tax man takes tax out of your wages, well the company have to pay tax too, and it’s considerably more than what you pay.

Then there’s paying for advertising, no company can go without advertising.

So taking that into account, There’s not really much profit to to be made.

Then the personal problems come into play.

They have a family too, then you got to think they have friends. In many cases they have so called friends, a lot of friends and family may come to them to borrow money in hard times, they may or may not help them, but if they say no, them said friends can turn against them. They may not always have the means to help. Then they may also have friends and family crawl out the woodwork, thinking they may get something out of them, some may even try to freeload off them.

They have also got to do everything possible to keep the business running, so you and me can still have a job, even when things look bleak, they still do whatever possible so they don’t have to loose their staff. They don’t have to just think of their family but your too.

Then (yeah I may be going on but there’s a lot of points to meet here) theres this pandemic, while a lot of people have been furloughed, and still getting paid for doing nothing, and yeah the government paid but who sortedbit out so you would get paid?yes the big bosses.

While you been furloughed, again they continued working. Why? Because they had no choice. They do this so you can still have a job when it’s all sorted.

Then there’s the financial crises we all face, many time during my lifetime, the markets crash, the country or world goes into a depression or a recession, that also affects companies and the big bosses struggle through it for you.

You see starting/owning your own business isn’t as easy as you think. The bosses or owners aren’t raking in cash like you think, they aren’t going out on holidays every week, even if they are fair fucking play they deserve it and earned it.

So yeah bitch about them, and complain, but feel guilty when you realise, you wouldn’t have a job without them, they are the reason you can afford to pay them bills, they are the reason you can afford a roof over your head and that car you drive.

You may work hard, but they work harder, you may not see because a lot of it is behind the scenes, so appreciate having a job, appreciate that someone had the balls to stick their headbout to start the business you work for. Appreciate the fact, they trust you with their business, because one mistake from you could ruin everything they have put everything into.

You can fuck up bad enough that the business looses customers and the business fold, and at the end of the day you can find a new job, but their life is ruined and their reputation is tarnished.

Instead of bitching be greatful, say thank you to your boss for having this job, say thank you to the owner for their time, money and putting their reputation on the line by employing you.

Say thank you for putting their neck on the line so you can live.

From me I say,

THANK YOU BIG BIG BOSS MAN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY AND YOUR REPUTATION, THANK YOU FOR MY JOB.
