THE SANTABLOG SERIES, DAY 6 (Work Christmas meal day, go have fun)

THE SANTABLOG SERIES

DAY 6

Press play before you start reading, get into that Christmas spirit

When do you have your work Christmas meal? Our is today, yeah may be a little early but places book up pretty quick don’t they?

We almost didn’t have one this year, our “manager” left last month and well, we had to sort it out ourselves. Luckily we managed to secure secure somewhere and get the means to pay via higher ups, so that was a little worrying for a time.

Do you enjoy your work Christmas parties? I was ill last year so I had to miss out, but that made me even more determined to make sure I made this one, I  steered well clear of anyone who could spread any kind of germs my way as best I could.

Luckily I feel great today and that means I get to go, although I may not even be able to catch a lift so I may have to drive myself, so that means no drinking, pretty sucky eh?

Don’t get me wrong I don’t need to be drunk to have a good time but a bit of liquid courage helps me loosen up a bit round loads of people. Usually I don’t do well with groups of people, even if I know them very very well, but I’m alot better than I used to be so that should count for something right?

A Christmas meal or party with your work colleagues is a must every year, it help you all bond and have a good time with the people you pretty much spend most of your time with but never really get to let your hair down because your at work, especially doing the job we do it’s constantly fix this and fix that.

You see a different side to your work colleagues on a night out, everyone is more relaxed and chilled. Don’t get me wrong we are all awesome at work and have a damn good laugh but we also work our arses off, it’s awesome to spend a little time with each other away from all that stress and worky work stuff.

Alot of people avoid going out with work friends, they make excuses because they think they won’t fit in during these kind of circumstances, or maybe even worried about drinking too much and scared to face the people they work with on Monday. Many people are just scared more than anything, they don’t understand that you need to make the most of your time.

So this year (along with every other year) go out and enjoy the time, don’t come up with excuses to avoid it, let yourself go.

Find a new side to your work colleagues/friends, find a new side to yourself when your round them. You may surprise yourself and have fun.
