THE SANTABLOG SERIES 2024
Day 1

That’s right, step into Christmas, or at least the Christmas countdown.
So the final 25 days until the tubby dude breaks into your house and leaves you some awesome gifts eh? (And socks, don’t forget the socks)
Have you finished all your shopping or are you one of those who enjoys the Christmas rush? piling into those shops surrounded by people with the same aim, get those last few bit before the shelves empty and you got to figure out a way to get that special something for that special someone.
Let’s admit, it can be a thrill right? Or is it your worst nightmare? With Internet shopping it’s alot easier to order your gifts isn’t it? Or is that a game or Russian roulette?
Whatever your ideals are, the run up to Christmas is a thrill, don’t gey me wrong it’s damn annoying and stressful too isn’t it? But a wonderful time of year nonetheless. Personally I love the run up to Christmas more than the main event, seeing people smiling and getting more into the Christmas spirit more and more every day.
That is my aim here, to help you gain that Christmas spirit and enjoy every single day, right up to the time you open them presents and eat that massive Christmas dinner, because let’s face it that’s the best part right?
Not for me, well the food part is one of the best parts, but the ultimate best part is seeing those smiles on my lived ones faces, seeing my sons eyes glow as he opens the wrapping paper, very gently opens them may I add (with his autism he like to preserve the wrapping paper and boxes so he can use them to make more stuff, i think he enjoys the wrapping and boxes more than whats inside).
Spending time with loved ones, family and friends alike, is another amazing part about Christmas, but never forget about those who are alone, there’s plenty of people alone every year for Christmas so always spare a thought for them too. For some it’s their first Christmas alone and it’s kind of heart breaking don’t you think?
I mean, they could be your neighbours so if you can, maybe you can buy them a little gift or spare some of your Christmas Dinner and take it round to them. That would be the best gift to them this year, not the gifts or the food, but the pure fact that someone thought about them even for a few minutes, help them not feel as alone as they feel.
Christmas isn’t always about the gifts.
Christmas is about the good stuff in life, the stuff money can’t buy, it’s not about what the adverts say it’s about it’snot about presents, it’s about your time and who you spend it with, it’s about what you can do to create happiness and joy, it’s about how many smiles you have and make. You see time is the only thing you can’t get back, every second of every day is fleeting by faster than you can grasp.
All those gifts you put under your tree will last what? A few months, maybe years before they get forgotten about or lost or broken and thrown away, but the memories and adventures will stay with you forever. Every smile and every laugh is a fresh new memory that will never fade and stay with you until that final fateful day that each and every one of us will reach before you can even think about where the time has gone.
You can’t take anything with you on that dreadful day that none of us can escape, you can’t take money or any of the things you have accumulated over your life, so instead fill your life with life, experiences and adventures, surround yourself with the people you love and create memories with them because that is all we are at the end of it, we are a bunch of memories so be the best kind of memories.
For those workaholics, work will be there tomorrow, or after the new year, if it isn’t then fuck it is alot easier to get a new job than it is to get your time back. Your job will still be there after Christmas or you can get a new one, that’s guaranteed (even if it’s not your dream job).
The things you can guarantee in life a more important, you can’t guarantee those loved ones will always be there. Take advantage of the time you have not the people you have got. Never take for granted that your loved ones are with you because they may not always be there.
Little bit grim, huh?
Ok that sounds a bit grim doesn’t it? Not what you want to read on the 1st Santablog of 2024, but it’s a damn hard truth that people need to realise and I can’t stress that enough.
Take a step into Christmas with me on the 1st day of The Santablog Series and feel the love that is around you and feed some of that love into those around you. Take advantage of the time you have and give and receive love and appreciation more than a present.
